SMG attended the Wyatt Tarrant and Combs Environmental Law Update on October 29th. Included in the excellent presentations were updates on federal and state environmental issues, updates on the Waters of the U.S. proposed rule and updates on the developments in Greenhouse Gas Regulation. The Keynote Speaker – Dr. Len Peters, Secretary of Kentucky’s Energy & Environment Cabinet, discussed the changes to the Clean Air Act under sections 111(b) and 111(d). Dr. Peter’s comments focused on how the proposed changes would affect Kentucky. Most notably, Dr. Peters said that the changes proposed to CAA 111(b) and 111(d) mark the most fundamental environmental policy change in the last 40 years.
